The Social Page

In the left-navigation, go to the Social section. This will open your main social feed.

Social Channels and Posts

You can create multiple social channels, that can be specific to an event, or they can be a more general topic. On the left of the page is a button allowing you to create a new channel, and underneath that is the list of current channels for your group. Each channel has its own distinct list of posts.

  1. Click the 'new social channel' button, and give your channel a name. You can also decide if you want to allow all members to create posts on this channel, or whether it should be admins-only. Press save. It should now appear in your list of channels.
  2. If you want to edit a channel's name or access, click the pencil-icon next to the channel name. This will allow you to edit the settings for that channel.
  3. Click on one channel or another to view that channel's posts to the right of the channel list.
  4. To create a new post within that channel, click the 'new post' button on the right of the channel view, and create your post. You can also decide whether you want to allow comments on that post - if so, anyone can comment, otherwise comments are disabled.

Once you have created your post, you can edit or delete it by pressing the 3-dots top-right of the post and selecting edit or delete.

To share the post with your group members, press the share icon next to the 3-dots, and select 'share to group by email'. This will send an email to all members with the post comments and a link back to this post on the site.

In this way you can create a centralised communications systems for announcements or to collect information via comments, in such a way that is far easier to organise than group messaging, where messages can so easily get lost.
